JGF Utilities is a privately owned limited company which was established in 2003. At the core of the company are the Directors, Jim Fogarty and Colm McDonagh. From it’s humble beginnings, JGF has grown into a well founded mid-size civil engineering operation with an annual turnover of £3 million and employing nearly fifty staff. We have a considerable array of plant and vehicles as part of our integral infrastructure including a fleet of 14 transit vans and half a dozen Grab wagons, the latter of which we offer as a part of a specialist plant hire service. We have gained a reputation as being a flexible and adaptable company, with the ability to deploy nationwide for both small and large operations. We have operated as contractors for some of the biggest names in British construction, Murphy Limited, McAlpine, Morgan Est, Willows Construction Services and Balfour Beatty to name but a few. Indeed, one of our main current operations is as a preferred contractor on a £380 million Balfour Beatty project across the North West. This includes a 25km stretch of pipeline in Denton, Stockport and a 10km feed in Ingol, Preston. Simultaneously, we are installing a 3km medium pressure gas project in Warrington. We have experience in working across the North West of England, Yorkshire, Cumbria and in Scotland for a whole host of different companies and projects. We are primarily a civil engineering utility installation specialist and as part of this, we are particularly renowned for our excellent reinstatement service in any given ground, whether it be clay, tarmac or concrete. We are firm believers that the handover of the project must see the original state of the working environment restored or if possible improved. JGF regards itself as a responsible company when it comes to such matters and to this end, we have a clear and dedicated Environmental Policy to which our staff and management must adhere.
